you beat me to it---sounds like an excuse to me---would they be undefeated if it didn't rain?
Maybe it will rain Friday and help the Vikings out...
Bulldogs win battle of turnovers at Pound

POUND ? The Appalachia Bulldogs overcame three first-half turnovers Friday night to pick up a Lonesome Pine District football win.
The Bulldogs (5-3, 1-2) took advantage of second-half turnovers by the Pound Wildcats to take a 37-12 LPD victory at Dotson-Mullins Field.
Turnovers kept Appalachia out of the end zone in the first half. In the second half, the Bulldogs took advantage of four Pound turnovers to pull away for the win.
The Wildcats (4-4, 0-3) turned the ball over on their first four possessions of the second half and Appalachia scored after each of the turnovers.
?Turnovers are always a key,? Pound coach Chris Crabtree said. ?We just don't play well in the rain and it?s rained about every week. Unless we?re markedly better than who we?re playing it?s going to be tough for us.?
Appalachia coach Roger Austin said his team did not make many adjustments for the second half, except to hang onto the football.
?Those turnovers just killed us in the first half, but the kids hung with it and we were able to pull it out,? Austin said. ?I thought Pound was a scrappy bunch and really played hard.?
The Bulldogs scored on their first drive by marching 75 yards on 12 plays. Appalachia quarterback Tyler Hall finished off the drive with a 1-yard plunge. Tyler Barker then added the two-point conversion run to put the Bulldogs up 8-0 with 4:19 to play in the first quarter.
Pound responded by marching 73 yards in 10 plays on its next drive. Nathaniel Mullins finished the scoring drive with an 8-yard touchdown run up the middle to cut the Appalachia lead to 8-6 with 25 seconds left in the first quarter.
The Bulldogs moved the ball to the Pound 13 on their next drive, but a fumble ended the drive.
On Appalachia?s next possession, the Bulldogs moved the ball to the 14 before another fumble turned the ball over to Pound.
The Bulldogs fumbled again on their next possession giving the ball back to the Wildcats at the Pound 42.
Pound could not take advantage of the Appalachia turnovers, but Appalachia took full advantage of the Wildcats? miscues in the second half.
After Pound turned the ball over at its own 25 on its first play from scrimmage in the third quarter, the Bulldogs scored in four plays. Barker capped the scoring drive with a 17-yard touchdown run. A conversion run from Forrest Stuart gave the Bulldogs a 16-6 lead with 7:42 to play in the quarter.
Appalachia added another touchdown in the third quarter after the Wildcats fumbled at the Bulldog 36. Josh Allen capped the scoring drive on a 15-yard touchdown run to put Appalachia up 22-6 heading into the fourth quarter.
The turnover woes continued for Pound in the fourth quarter. The Wildcats turned the ball over on their next two possessions with a fumble at the Appalachia 14 and an interception that was returned to the Pound 30. The Bulldogs capitalized on both with a 78-yard touchdown pass from Hall to Stuart and a 25-yard touchdown run from Allen.
Pound?s final score came on a 95-yard touchdown run from Aaron Balthis. The late-game carry gave Balthis, who finished the game with 149 yards on 16 carries, 1,039 yards for the season.
Chase Morelock led Appalachia?s balanced rushing attack with 86 yards on 14 carries, while Barker added 84 yards on 14 carries

Well their field looks like somebody plowed it up for planting taters!
He used to say that Ervinton didn't play well when it was on the football field..
What we've got here is failure to communicate. Some men you just can't reach, so you get what we had here last week which is the way he wants it. Well, he gets it.
Jet sweeps suck in the rain!
I must say that I am proud of the boys for all the hard work and effort they put Into the game..

Pound doesn't play well in the rain, snow, sunlight, cloudy, slight drizzle, month of September, October, November.
Tell you what though, if it's May, partly cloudy with a Tornado warning...****ing unstoppable.
Pound has talent it's the coach that has none. when you have your qb throw most of the game when it's raining its dumb. also when you have one player you throw to because he wants that player to the "STAR" the everybody knows who to block..crabtree is the problem not the boys...
